Demetra George, M.A. Classics, has been practicing astrology for more than 35 years, specializing in archetypal mythology and ancient techniques. She is the author of Astrology For Yourself, Asteroid Goddesses, Mysteries of the Dark Moon, Finding Our Way Through the Dark, and Astrology and the Authentic Self. She lives in Oregon, lectures internationally, and leads pilgrimages to the sacred sites in the Mediterranean and India. She offers personal astrological consultations and mentors individual students in all levels of astrological education.

Dennis M. Harness, Ph.D. is a professional astrologer who holds a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology. For more than twenty years, Dennis has studied both Eastern and Western techniques of astrology. Dennis enjoys teaching as well as tutoring students for the ACVA certification program. He also teaches workshops on Vedic Astrology and Transpersonal Psychology throughout the world. Dr. Harness is the President of the American College of Vedic Astrology. He is the author of The Nakshatras: The Lunar Mansions of Vedic Astrology, which is published by Lotus Press.

Greece and Egypt: Mirrors of the Soul

Dennis and Demetra are excited about our last minute plans for two thrilling AOT tours this Fall - Greece and Egypt: Mirrors of the Soul. These two tours run from September 19th until October 7th, 2009. The classical Greeks repeatedly turned to Egypt as the source of ancient spiritual wisdom, and following their example Ancient Oracle Tours will explore the roots of hermetic knowledge in the land of the pharaohs. You can join us on either the trip to Greece or Egypt, or best, both!

| Following Greece, we turn towards Egypt, Egypt: The Sacred Land of Isis and Osiris, October 1st until the 7th, 2009. This will be a new trip for AOT in preparation for a more extended journey next year. | |  |
| We are inviting a limited number of people to join us on this exploratory one week journey in preparation for a longer trip in the Winter of 2010/2011. We will be accompanied the entire time by Vivian Zaki, Ph.D, an expert in Egyptian Archaeology to guide us through secret mystery traditions of this fabled land. |
 | | One theme that we will be exploring is the cross cultural motifs in the Eleusinian Mysteries of Demeter and Persephone with those of Isis and Osiris in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. In the Homeric Hymn, Demeter reveals that she came from Crete which may have been the intermediary transmission locale of the death/rebirth mysteries between |
| these two great civilizations. Our itinerary includes a visit to Demeter's Initiation Temple at Eleusis, to the cult cave of the mother goddess with her child in Crete, and to the Temple of Isis in Philae. |
